Wake Monarch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students in recovery from substance use disorders. Rooted in the belief that young people deserve both healing and hope, Wake Monarch provides safe, structured, and supportive environments where students can continue their education and build a foundation for lasting recovery.

Our work centers on two core programs. Wake Monarch Academy, the Triangle’s first and only recovery high school, offers a unique blend of academic instruction and recovery support, ensuring students do not have to choose between their education and their health. Complementing the Academy, the Wake Monarch Alternative Peer Group Program, launched in August 2025, provides peer support, mentorship, and recovery resources that empower students to thrive socially and emotionally while maintaining their sobriety.

Together, these programs reflect Wake Monarch’s mission to break down barriers, create community, and provide young people with the tools they need to succeed in both life and learning.
